Dominic Toretto after escaping a few years earlier, is now in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, and together with Letty and his new gang lives robbing trucks for gasoline. But drama is just around the corner when Letty suddenly dies in a mysterious accident, all while in Los Angeles, Brian is on the hunt for a wanted drug dealer.

The fourth chapter of the eponymous saga, in my opinion, is the true beginning of the success of this amazing franchise, as if it was the true beginning of the story, not counting the first three chapters, and according to the sources, was what Vin Diesel had asked the director who instead wanted to connect the film to the other chapters. A story that has something different from the first three chapters, also because the main element is no longer the clandestine races even if they remain among the various elements of the saga, but the espionage and the action at cardio palma between chases and bullshit.

Everything is in its place starting from the cast where they all returned and the difference is also seen because the saga had begun with them and had to continue with them, without taking away who in previous years has replaced them. Vin Diesel has changed a lot since the first chapter, and with him his personality, I found him much more mature and protective towards his new team, even if the real Toretto is always in him ready to fight those who put themselves in front of him. Different from the man we had left in Los Angeles, with much more responsibility and with the sense of danger that sometimes gets out of hand, let's say that Dom Toretto remains the soul of the film.

But without his shoulder Brian, it would not have been the same and summed up in the police is back the character we knew even without his curly Bush hair but with the usual good guy face that would make any woman fall in love. I also found a different Brian who knows what his fugitive past has been, and what he has to do to break away from that life that I never forgot.

Letty's death is the center of the film

If we put Letty's sudden death we lose a character sacred to history that will leave an open wound in Dom's heart, although his death remains a mystery that we will discover throughout history. The character played by Michelle Rodriguez was the female soul of the film and during the story you will see the lack of this we say Dom to the female, with the attributes of who knows what she wants, a minor part for the actress but that is the drop that started the film. Different thing for Mia Toretto, no longer the little girl of the first chapter, but a woman who has nothing to do with the angheries of crime and indeed her sweetness and calm served to make the story Sweet where finally The Brian-Mia couple was what we all wanted to see and understand what had happened between the two who have never forgotten each other.

The new enemies

Let's say that the absence of Letty has been replaced by the presence of Gisele Yashar, before the enemy and tied to the bandwidth of the antagonist, but a character that is to build the armor of a woman hard and cynical to hide his sweetness, which reflects the actress israeli Gal In that this film has finally notice to the public even before Wonder Woman and her femininity will in the saga, and we are talking about her film debut, but already the impact. The antagonist is a mystery that links the whole film about who is the real mastermind of Letty's murder, and what links his death with the search for the mysterious trafficker Arturo Braga is nothing more than the mystery made person. I do not think that his interpreter, John Ortiz thought of such a catchy and fugitive character of history, where his person is not what he seems. Surely you do not bring the best villains of the saga, a different enemy and not the criminal of overreach that puts the protagonists in difficulty with super techniques. Let's say the typical drug dealer who pretends to be another person to achieve his goals, endowed with great inventiveness and personality.

Justin Lin with Vin Diesel during filming

If Justin Lin after the success of the third chapter thought of starting a new page in the saga I think not, his desire to rewrite a new story where everything is not as it seems has enriched what we had seen previously. The taiwanese director wanted not to lose the enthusiasm seen so far but with something more, and everything directed by him has seasoned the story with new facets starting from the pair that bursts like Toretto-O'conner, to the mythical races in the desert and the explosions at the cardio palma that only Fast & Furious gives. The skill of not only bringing the original cast back to collaborate for the amazing story, but recreating a kind of new beginning recognizes him as a director Still Underrated for his modest skill.

The desert race

It was best to bring the film to Latin America, where crime is high and justice is lacking many times, the Latinity of the country has served to give new life to the film. Two opposing worlds like the Dominican Republic and Los Angeles in comparison between crime and more where the true Latin essence and the American beauty like L. A. collide, and even the desert races are a good slice of speed, compared to the usual street or city races, this makes you understand the desire to change the setting, and find something more sparkling.

The soundtrack composed by Brian Tyler, is a mixture of loud and impactful sounds where it serves as the many action scenes that reflect the high melodies, something different where the suspense finds place we find slower melodies that serve to reflect espionage. In the film we also find many music that reflects the Latin American soul of the saga with the rappers Pitbull and Don Omar (plays Santos in the film), have enriched the success of the story. Simply put, a film that gives a different meaning to the saga that fills the big screen with success.
