Sixth chapter of the eponymous saga, it is another gear shift compared to previous chapters as if there had been a real reversal in front. As I said about the fourth chapter, which was like the beginning of the new era of the saga, this is also a kind of new beginning, an experimentation began in the facts and actions that led him to detach himself from the true meaning of the film, namely motor racing.
The first real change is noticeable at the beginning when a sort of initial theme is shown to present how everything started up to this chapter, let's say a rewind and it is something that in my opinion the director wanted to try to remind everyone of the great work done so far. Then of course you could talk about the fact that Justin Lin has created in this way a sort of TV series more than a movie, maybe he also did it to give a new beginning to Brian that with the birth of his son you want to create a new life, and in my opinion it is a very good element.
The desire to unite all the best moments of the saga to rewind the story up to the sixth chapter it was also a way to rewind the highlights for those who missed something, and I had to be a thing that could be done already in the previous chapters. Certainly at least as far as I'm concerned I found it a very positive element to start this new adventure.
Yet another decent proof of Vin Diesel who has managed to never grow old despite the years looking younger and younger despite not being a young man anymore. Now his tough face of the type do not touch me and my family otherwise they are trouble is no longer a novelty, like his way of intervening to save everyone with his great temperament. And he turns out more and more to be a great team leader, what I love about his character is the humanity and sensitivity that he always manages to convey behind the face of hard.
If you put it to us that our dear Paul Walker will have to be a father for the first time, he knows as a kind of first crossroads whether to continue the old life as a fugitive thief or to be a father, and he also knows as a kind of goodbye and no one could imagine what would happen to the American actor. It always remains the good proof that once again made it clear that team that wins does not change talking about the duo Toretto/O'conner, defined by me as the couple that bursts or sometimes of two opposing ideas but that United are a real energy and two unique characters. From whom I would have expected more is instead The Rock, which for the first time since he entered the saga has a more central role, let's say the role of good cop bad cop, and that deep down he is tight his uniform agent of the D. E. A. . I don't want to say that it hurt, but let's say that he left the action part to Diesel and co. and not as we are used to seeing in his films. Want to show that you have the calm in the worst situations but that would divide the world when it does happen, its role does not allow it or at least has to control herself, had the opportunity to show that his role now in the saga was the first floor, and instead, once again, if there ever was need to touch all at the Toretto and co.
Finally a sweet couple that is not Brian and Mia, but two people of two similar characters who like each other and who blossom right in this story after the first kisses of the previous chapter, and we are talking about Han and Gisele. Two worlds as in comparison, and ready to split the world together as the real couples who love each other and regret how it will turn out, leaving everyone open-mouthed with tears. The Israeli actress showed her criminal charm as a woman with attributes by tipping our Han, who finally returned the character we met in the third chapter, wise and intuitive we can say the brain behind the team. But the whole team is a lightning bolt with a clear sky, bizarre but also strong that they do not always agree but that the sense of family makes them point to victory.
And if they wanted an enemy as it should, the one built by Owen Shaw is very similar to the military clever and intelligent, who manages to build a world around thanks to his cunning and skill, but that ends up to overdo it and make a bad end in an absurd way, that if I think about it I say if it was enough to do it throw from the windshield to defeat him, I would not have destroyed half the highway to capture it. The Welsh actor is ironic and also good at playing the acrobatic thief but as always happens in the movies he loses for the arrogance he brings with him and the lack of tact he has with his team. If Then she gets help from a character like Letty Ortiz does not have to be really as strong as it seems; well yes Michelle Rodriguez is back to break the world, although very different from how we remembered her and finally we will discover the truth about her fake death. Surely I did not like how they replaced the character of Elena Neves, it seemed to be now the girl who made Dom's heart beat with love and instead in the end it was not so but only a replacement and just returned Letty, the Brazilian policewoman was taken out of the way. I can understand that the beautiful Rodriguez is a top character in history, but at least give the time to Neves to say her could afford it, not a real choice.
Very good special effects as only the saga knows, and that make the story exciting and cardio palma, from jumps between a highway to another in slow motion, to explosions in a helicopter but what is more beautiful is that finally the saga also moves around Europe touching stages such as London and surroundings and not only the American soil. And that's what I was waiting for finally to see the saga also on European soil and prove that even cities like London can serve for chases and clandestine races. Also the soundtrack is filled with news and not only to the absence of the composer's usual Brian Tyler replaced by the spaniard Lucas Vidal, who before then I had never heard of, but that, in Spain, he had worked for various film-makers of the place, but other than that, it managed to bring a lot of lymph youthful view of his young age, but also a desire to give risalte the scenes and more explosive with the sound of the very strong and suspense, using many sounds. Finally a song that gives a shock to the saga where two rappers like Wiz Khalifa in duet with 2Chainz have given life to We Own it, a sound with the right rhythm to give vent that together you win as the team does. A chapter that shows how history is evolving at its best from where it began and that we will never want to end.
